Massive traffic built up as early as 8am at Bandar Dato’ Onn in conjunction of the Aeon Mall Bandar Dato’ Onn’s grand opening yesterday that gathered crowds from different parts of Johor Bahru to join the auspicious event.
The latest and sixth Aeon mall in Johor occupied a built-up area of over 1.2 million square feet that houses 150 known retail outlets spanning over three floors and with a capacity of 2300 parking bays for customers.
“The Bandar Dato’ Onn outlet is the first Aeon in Malaysia that applies the Japanese ‘AEON STYLE’ concept. Apart from that, the mall also incorporates healthy lifestyle by introducing an outdoor fitness park and jogging track as we want to create a conducive healthy living among the shoppers,” said Executive Director of AEON CO. (M) Sdn Bhd, Poh Ying Loo speaking to the media during the grand opening ceremony.
Poh also added that they are currently in plans to open its inaugural mall in East Malaysia focusing in Kuching, Sarawak within the second quarter of 2018. To date, there are 27 Aeon malls nationwide including Bandar Dato’ Onn outlet.
Shoppers can enjoy several discounts and promotion for three days of opening at several retails and be treated to merriment of light performances at night. Three local charity homes namely Shafar Orphanage & Welfare Association, Gateway Community Center, and Puspanesam Welfare Association were contributed with a generous aid of RM20,000 each by Malaysian AEON Foundation.
