Get your white t-shirts on and walk in silence as Johor Birds & Animal Association (JOBA) and Penang animal activist, Elsa Aeria are organising the ‘Silent Awareness Walk Johor 2017’ in homage of animals suffering and educating the public on animal rights on 19th August 2017.
The walk will commence from Johor Zoo and move on to Jalan Gertak Merah, Jalan Dato’ Onn, Jalan Tan Hiok Nee and Jalan Dhoby while returning to the zoo via Jalan Ayer Molek and back through the same route.
“We have endless number of cases in the mistreatment of animals. There are incidents such as dropping dogs in other areas prior to not taking care of it, pets being chained and the smuggling of exotic animals illegally which are turned into delicacies. It must stop,” said JOBA Secretary, Delaney Rodrigues to the media.
Delaney continued that the silent walk tactic is to highlight the awareness of animal
abuse, respecting and understanding animals by just holding big placards or banners to support the cause.
Interested animal lovers who would like to join the walk, contact JOBA via https://www.facebook.com/officialJOBA/ or call Delaney at 017-7899273.
