Positive Outlook for UMLand Townships

Over 1800 Acres of Undeveloped Landbank under UMLand Group 1

KK Wong, CEO cum Acting Group Director of UMLand Townships shared that the property outlook for 2018 is very positive. UMLand Seri Austin is currently focusing on its D’Lagoon residences as well as Aster2 Semi-detached houses. This year, to meet the current market demand of buyers, Seri Austin will be launching 300 units of very affordable residential apartments at prices below RM400,000.

Moreover, with advances in technology, UMLand is also embarking on building smart cities to complement the lifestyle needs of the modern community.


Additional 40,000 Affordable Homes to be Built in the State

The Rumah Mampu Milik Johor (RMMJ) was first launched in 2013, and 60,000 units were initially planned to be built by private developers and state-linked companies. However, according to Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, the number is set to be increased to 100,000 units with a delivery period up to the year 2023.

By the year 2020, the state government will ensure the remaining 44,000 units from the 60,000 units under the RMMJ scheme to be delivered to eligible first-time house buyers.

Khaled said 5,000 units would be handed over this year with another 5,000 units by the end of 2019.

Khaled said with 100,000 units, Johor will have the highest number of affordable houses built in the country and also the cheapest in terms of pricing compared with other states.

RMMJ houses are priced at RM150,000 and Perumahan Komuniti Johor Type A and Type B, at RM40,000 and RM80,000 respectively.
