Maslee Express, a Johor based retailer had always been active with charity efforts in the spirit of the festive season. They have an ongoing charity initiative called Share2Care where Maslee contributes back to the community by paying for groceries and giving out Bubur Lambuk porridges during Ramadan at all of their 13 outlets.

This year, during the month of Ramadan, Maslee joins Marrybrown to collaborate with the Coca-Cola Company and the Muslim Aid Malaysia Foundation in the latter’s charity called Fast2Feed. All sponsors joined hands to give back to the community, in particular, to Muslim Aid Malaysia Foundation.

The Muslim Aid Malaysia team travels tirelessly to bring festive cheer to 24 locations in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak, Penang, Pahang, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

Coca-Cola staff joined residents from Tahfiz Al-Quran Ummu Waratah, Rumah Anak Yatim Shafar and refugees from Rohingya School Tampoi to break-fast with delicious Marrybrown chicken, nuggets and rice as well as refreshing beverages at the event held at Marrybrown Perling Mall. The atmosphere was made merrier with colouring contest and quizzes for the children and everyone were given goody bags sponsored by Maslee, Marrybrown, and others.

Other efforts by Coca-Cola include the launch of the Coca-Cola Komuniti Usahawan (KU) training programme in partnership with the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism that is designed to guide budding microentrepreneurs onto the path of success by providing them the knowledge and training needed to elevate their business.

The programme in Malaysia is part of the company’s global commitment to enable the economic empowerment of 5 million women entrepreneurs across the company’s value chain by 2020 through its 5by20 initiative, where Coca-Cola KU aims to empower 20,000 women entrepreneurs by year 2020. While it is targeted at women, Coca-Cola KU also encourages men to participate.
