Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia, Kulai Municipal Council (MPK), Yayasan Sejahtera Kulai as well as Le Grandeur Palm Resort Johor hosted a special ‘buka puasa’ session for 150 orphans and children from the district’s lower income group as a step to bring some cheer during this festive month.
“Every Ramadan, many children from the dire poor families and orphans get left behind in the celebrations. This little gesture of ours to let them have an enjoyable Buka Puasa after abstinence for the whole day is our way of honoring them and our aim is to give back to the less fortunate in our community,” said Jef Kong, the General Manager of the hotel and Chief Executive Officer of La Grandeur Resort who was pleased to be able to host the break-fast for these less fortunate children.
Kulai Parliamentary Member, Teo Nie Ching, State Assembly Member for Bukit Permai, Tosrin Hj Jarvanthi and State Assembly Member for Senai, Alan Tee Boon Tsong were the special guests of the event.
Prof. Dr. Ainullotfi b. Abdul Latif from IKRAM, also the Chairman of I-Bantu Ikram Malaysia explained that I-Bantu is one of the agencies under IKRAM that aims to help and support humanitarian efforts, working hand in hand with MyCare, with i-Bantu focused on activities in and around Malaysia, MyCare extends help internationally.
Gifts sponsored by IKRAM and goodie bags containing green packets provided by the resort were presented to all 150 children and marks the fourth year the resort has conducted these activities part of its Ramadan CSR initiative.
