Iskandar Puteri’s (IP) inaugural Edible Festival took place at the newly-completed Edible Park in Medini, bringing the biggest green market as well as a host of activities including sustainability workshops, cooking demonstrations as well as thought-provoking talks in celebration with IP’s growing green ecosystem.
Over 40 different vendors gathered to showcase and sell their regional handmade food, drinks as well as sustainably-grown produce in a unique interactive setting that enabled festival goers to learn how to live green, one bite at a time.
The Edible Park is the first public facility of its kind in the country which features an urban farm, studio café, market structures as well as several different species of edible flowers and plants. The event was organised by Medini Iskandar Malaysia in collaboration with social enterprise JOGreen, best known for their Johor Green Markets that has become a regular facet of JB and IP.
The event also saw several engaging workshops and demonstrations, such as Edible Identity by renowned Dewakan Chef, Darren Teoh who showed his unique approach to local and indigenous ingredients in crafting a modern Malaysian meal.
TV personality and foodie Razif Hashim was also present to share his experiences in Edible Culture. Many took the opportunity to learn new skills including baking bread, coffee cupping and painting still life at the festival.
