Malaysia’s leading cinema exhibitor, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) has announced a partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment to launch “Sony’s Reel Society” – a series of five films that will be made available exclusively under the GSC International Screens.
Best of Enemies, directed by Robin Bisell, will kick-start the series on 20th June 2019. The whole line-up of “Sony’s Reel Society” films is as follows:

|Best of Enemies||20th June 2019||The true story of the unlikely friendship between Ann Atwater, an outspoken civil rights activist, and C.P. Ellis, the Exalted Grand Cyclops of the Ku Klux Klan. During the racially charged summer of 1971, Atwater and Ellis come together to co-chair a community summit on the desegregation of schools in Durham, N.C. He develops a variety of techniques to deny himself too much pleasure and happiness, but they’re put to the ultimate test when he falls in love.|
|The Sound of Silence||3rd October 2019||A successful “house tuner” in New York City, who calibrates the sound in people’s homes in order to adjust their moods, meets a client with a problem he can’t solve.|

“We are happy to partner with Sony Pictures Entertainment to launch ‘Sony’s Reel Society’ as we aim to provide audiences enriching cinema experiences through not only technology, but content as well. We are very proud of the success of our partnerships with other distributors to expand on the content available under our GSC International Screens brand, as this proves that audiences in Malaysia do enjoy smart, well-written stories that are not only emotionally moving, but also universally human,” said Koh Mei Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Golden Screen Cinemas.
“We at Sony Pictures Entertainment have always had a diverse genre of quality films in our slate. We try our best to make films that cater to different categories of audiences; and specialty film is one of them. We are bringing in these titles through Sony’s Reel Society in an exclusive collaboration with our exhibition partner, GSC who has a strong presence in the international films’ arena. We hope that this will provide an avenue to keen audiences to catch these titles in the silver screen, and the continuous support and response from all parties will allow us to expand this programme for more potential titles,” said Simon Foo, Managing Director of Sony Pictures Entertainment Malaysia.
“Sony’s Reel Society” will be available exclusively at selected GSC locations including GSC Pavilion KL; GSC Mid Valley Megamall; GSC 1 Utama; GSC Gurney Plaza, Penang; and GSC Paradigm JB.
