Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) through a virtual press conference has issued the latest status on Tebrau Residency, one of their four projects currently under construction in Johor.
Tebrau Residence consists of 1,284 units of serviced apartments, with three types of units in different sizes from 757 per sqft, 903 per sq ft and 1,053 per sq ft. As of 16th July 2020, a total of 819 units have been sold and 459 units were booked.
The progress of Tebrau Residence is currently at 94% completion and in the final phases of its construction, which includes finishing work of each unit including commissioning work for the purpose of obtaining Certificate of Compliance and Completion (CCC) approval.
Completion date of the Tebrau Residency project was announced earlier in February 2020 to be delayed from March 2020 to June 2020. Following the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO), the date was further moved to October 2020 due to many limitations. The new deadline has been announced to the affected buyers in June 2020.
“We expect delays in the construction process at the site following the recent implementation of PKP. This involves all PR1MA projects including Tebrau Residence. We expect the delay to take three to four months in line with the Circular from the Public Works Department regarding the extension of time (EOT) which can be given to the contractor for 114 days,” Tuan Haji Mohd Nazri Md. Shariff, CEO of PR1MA said after stating that homeowners will get their keys in January 2021.
Compensation would be given in the form of ‘Liquidated Ascertained Damages’ (LAD) to affected PR1MA residential buyers to help ease their current financial burden.
