Event finds its way through local malls and rain
Johor Scavenger Hunt 2019 was recently held to promote the malls around Johor Bahru. Jointly organised by Tourism Johor and RWS Club, the event was held to usher in Visit Johor 2020.

The treasure hunt event roped in nine shopping malls namely Terminal Larkin, Kompleks Kraf, B5 Street Market, Capital Mall, JBCS, JBCC, R&F Mall, Toppen Mall, and IKEA. The programme consisted of three categories: Public, Staff, and Vendors. A total of 280 participants in 70 groups joined in the action, flagged off by Dato’ Dr Hj Badrul Hisham bin Kasam, Deputy Secretary (Domestic Trade). Participants then hopped into the Johor Public Bus for their first stop at Larkin Sentral to receive the first task sheet, followed by other task sheets at the next malls. Winners were based on scores of overall task completion.
Representative to Menteri Besar Johor, Exco Mohd Khuzzan bin Abu Bakar attended the closing ceremony along with Exco Sr Dzulkefly bin Ahmad, Mayor of MBIP, Johor State Economic Division Assistant Secretary, Director of Tourism Johor, CEO of Ranhill Water Services Sdn Bhd and the CEOs of all the participating shopping malls.
Among the vendors who participated were UEM Sunrise, Public Transport Corporation of Johor, LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, MCM Studio, GBW Hotel, Amerin Hotel, Amari Hotel, Hello Kitty Town, Angry Bird Activity Park, Nandos, VRINITY, JEN Hotel, Ramada Hotel, Fraser Place Hotel, Malaysia Budget Hotel Association, and Skyscape.
The event has garnered encouraging attention from all over Johor, and will be expanding to other cities to promote local food and culture in the years to come.
