An 18 year old initially believed to have fallen into Sungai Skudai at Jalan Berkat, Kampung Jaya Sepakat in Senai, Johor has sadly been found drowned after being reported missing. The Bandar Baru Kulai Fire and Rescue Department launched a search-and-rescue (SAR) operation the department received a distress call.
The victim identified as Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman unfortunately drowned after fishing and swimming with his friends at Sungai Skudai. Abdul Rashid aged 18 was swept away by the strong river current.
With the current weather conditions, the water current was strong even before it had rained and the river is quite deep making it unsafe for anyone.
What supposed to have been a harmless venture with friends has turned into something tragic that no one can forget.
The public is reminded to extra care under extreme weather conditions that is dangerous for any outdoor activities on land or sea.
