Participants spent the day treasure hunting in conjunction with Malaysia day celebrations
In conjunction with the Malaysia Day celebrations, the Southeast Johor Development Board had organised a Majestic Heritage Treasure Hunt event at KEJORA. The event was a tourism adventure activity to promote tourist destinations as well as to promote the legacy of products found in the KEJORA Region.
This event was also seen as a way to test the participants to recognise the heritage and historic locations around Johor and had involved strategic cooperation between the Desaru Coast, Tourism Johor, Pengerang Local Authorities and official events manager of IPPJ Sdn Bhd.
Participants were required to complete interactive assignments in selected destinations that not only gave commercial value to the site but also provided interesting experiences and useful knowledge to the participants.
The event was officiated by Yang Amat Berusaha Norazman Bin Othman, KEJORA General Manager at Dewan KEJORA Bandar Penawar.
The Treasure Hunt at KEJORA involved 69 groups with a total of 276 participants which included from all over Malaysia such as Penang, Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Johor Bahru involving various races.
The route was themed ‘The heritage extravaganza’ involving eco-tourism areas in KEJORA Region such as Kampung Johor Lama Homestay, Kampung Mawai Homestay, The Wetland Belukar Durian, Tg Balau Fishermen’s Museum and ending at the latest holiday site in Riverside, Desaru Coast.
