Families each received a Food Aid hamper comprising food essentials valued at RM50 per recipient, courtesy of Care United’s supportive partner Giant Hypermarket and the food included essentials such as a packet of rice, cooking oil, powdered energy drink, evaporated milk and canned food all packed in a handy shopping carrier for the students to bring home.

The families of 100 students were identified by SJK(C) Kuo Kang’s teachers that has been working closely with Care United, to ensure every single RM5,000 that was allocated for the food aid is spent on the deserving underprivileged families. As the non-profit relies mostly on public funds for its projects, they were mobilising their food aid through volunteers and well-wishers.

Pertubuhan Integrasi Nasional (Johor) or PIN with 10 volunteers were led by its chairman, Dato Seri S.K. Tangakaliswaran who arrived early in the morning to pack the goods.
