Former MBIP Mayor Took Oath as MBJB Mayor

Maintaining ‘Back to Basics’ working nature and completion of 2016-2020 MBJB Strategic Plan among his main focus

The 12th Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB) mayor, Haji Adib Azhari bin Daud has taken his oath at Dewan Jubli Intan Sultan Ibrahim Johor Bahru. He was previously the Iskandar Puteri City Council mayor since November 2017 and before that he had served as the Mersing District Officer.

In his speech, Haji Adib stated the importance of enforcing ‘Back to Basics’ in four main categories, Infra Server, Environmental Care, Social Development and Public Service.

He mentioned the need to complete MBJB’s Strategic Plan for 2016-2020 citing it is vital to align it with the vision that Johor Bahru is a city that is global, cultured and sustainable. He calls upon the MBJB office to pick up speed in order to materialise the said vision.

Attending as witnesses during the sworn in ceremony is Menteri Besar Johor Datuk Dr. Sahruddin Jamal, Johor State Secretary, Azmi Rohani, Johor Urban Wellbeing and Environment Committee chairman, Tan Chen Choon and Johor Tourism, Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman, Liow Cai Tung.

The former (11th) MBJB mayor, Haji Amran bin A. Rahman, is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of YPJ Holdings Sendirian Berhad.
