Headmaster of SJK(C) Kuo Kuang 1, Teh Keng Hwa and Care United JB’s Datuk Florence Goh exchange of appreciation gesture

Founder of Care United JB, Datuk Florence Goh cited a Chinese belief about a rice barrel that has to be full during the new year so it is enough to feed the household and it aligns with the organisation’s effort where they provide food aid consisting of basic grocery necessities like rice packs, oil, condensed milk and etc worth RM5000 in total. Over the years, Care United has provided food aid to needy families of all races around Johor Bahru and Ulu Tiram to alleviate their food expenses.

100 students from underprivileged family background were selected by the teachers of SJK(C) Kuo Kuang 1 under the observation of their headmaster, Teh Keng Hwa to ensure the food aid went to the rightful families. The children were also given red packets each to celebrate the merriment of the Chinese New Year. Teh also noted that they are receiving different aids from different organisations and the school has coordinated different groups of underprivileged students to receive aid from the different groups.

Care United JB wishes to expand their reach on providing festive food aid and welcome contributions from corporate organisations as they are a tax-exempt NGO where all donations of RM51 and above are tax deductible.
