20 teams competed in the annual challenge in the quest to become 2019’s new champ

The annual event of Angry Bird theme park; the ‘Angry Bird Crew Challenge 2019’ (ABC Challenge) found its reigning champion at its final showdown taking place at Angry Bird Activity Park Komtar JBCC on 19th November 2019.

20 teams of school children ages 7 to 12 years old gathered together to take on the final challenge at the theme park in a limited time basis. The teams were separated into Category A for children aged 7 to 9 years and Category B for 10 to 12 years old students with 5 members for each teams.

The initial qualifying round took place from 30th September to 3rd October 2019 which saw 400 students from 80 schools from all over Johor taking part in the challenge. 10 teams were then selected to compete on the final challenge for each category.

ABC Challenge is a competition inaugurated since the activity park opened its doors in 2015. The challenge aims to expose the students with healthy lifestyle, building self-confidence, honing their general knowledge and testing their physical endurance in a set of tasks that requires them to work in a team which then would teach them leadership skills.

The tasks in the challenge were specially crafted and strictly supervised under the observation of Johor Education Department and District Education Department.

Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Pelangi Indah, Johor Bahru and Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Desa Skudai were announced as the ABC Challenge 2019 champions for Category A and Category B respectively, earning themselves RM2,000 in cash, a perpetual trophy, trophy, medals, annual pass to Angry Birds Activity Park and certificate of participation for each members.

Rokiah Ahmad, Principal Assistant Director (Language), Johor Education Department, represented the Director and handed out the prizes to the contestants during the ceremony accompanied by Yusaini Sidek, CEO of Damansara Assets Sdn Bhd and Mohd Yunos Mahmod, Public Relations Officer from Pontian District Education Department.
