Danga Bay Waterfront in Iskandar Malaysia to welcome new centre for the high-end automotive brand – Porsche

Authorised dealer for Porsche vehicles, parts, and after sales services, Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) are set to move in to Iskandar Malaysia.

This will be SDAP’s first investment in Iskandar Malaysia after the opening of other centres located in Klang Valley and Penang.

This new Porsche Centre Johor Bahru (Porsche JB) will feature state-of-the-art facilities and services which are spread over approximately 60,000 sqft (5,575 sqm) of built-up working space and service area.

Built by the master developers, Iskandar Waterfront Holdings (IWH), this new facility is a new initiative by IWH in collaboration with SDAP to woo international partners and investors to transform the Southern Johor waterfront into a major business and leisure destination.

“We are excited to welcome SDAP and the Porsche brand to set up a centre in Danga Bay,” said IWH Group Executive Director, Lim Chen Herng.

He said the confirmation of the news that Porsche was coming over was the result of a three-year negotiation process. The icing on the cake was when Johor State Government and the JB City Council (MBJB) gave the approval for the project.

SDAP CEO, Christopher Hunter said the company is thrilled to expand its footprint to the Iskandar Malaysia region with the opening of its fourth Porsche Centre here.

“We aim to deliver the highest level of customer service and a unique ownership experience for all Porsche owners,” he added.

As the first 4S centre in Malaysia, the new facility will feature a sales showroom integrated with a Carerra Lounge, service workshops and dialogue bays, and body and paint centre.

Porsche JB is scheduled to open its doors and start revving in the first quarter of 2020.
