Playing with models never felt so satisfying

With technology constantly taking up our lives on a daily basis, it’s refreshing to take a break from your online life, and let your creativity loose. Simply put, Warhammer is a miniature war game, produced by Games Workshop across two systems, a fantasy themed Warhammer Age of Sigmar and the sci-fi and more familiar to many Warhammer 40,000.

Players enact battles using miniature figurines of warriors and models. The game itself is played on table top, with table model that comprises of buildings, trees, hills and other terrains features.

The world is so vast that you have Space marines and tyranids bug like aliens that devour everything and anything in their path on one end of the spectrum.

Helping the kids with their model paintings

You don’t have to be a bloodthirsty warlord to enjoy the game; you can play casually if you’re not interested in competitive play. Also, if you have no interest in war, you can take part in the painting of the models, which is amazingly detailed. You could spend hours just relaxing and painting your models to your own styles. If you don’t have one, don’t worry, Games Workshop provides you with a painting guide to make it easier, several painting tutorial videos online, in print or just get the store manager to help you out.

If you’re a student and think you have what it takes to run a community in your school, Games Workshop as a programmed called the Warhammer Alliance. Those who want to aim higher can earn their own Duke of Edinburgh Skills Award via the Citadel Skills Development Programme. It’s a school club that puts a lot of focus on student-led learning so that participants can develop practical personal and professional skills. Currently, there are 4 schools already taking part in this programme in Johor.

A staff teaching a new format

It doesn’t take much to get started and there’s a huge array of starter sets that you can purchase that you will be able to use for years. If you’re not sure if you’ll enjoy the game, you can head down to the Warhammer store in Mount Austin and speak to the friendly staffs there. They’ll be more than happy to help you along your journey into Warhammer. A variety of starter sets you can use for years which gets enrolled into the Citadel Crusader Academy, where you learn to build, paint and play under the guide of the Store Manager over a period of a few weeks.
