The golf tournament brought on about 80 members of the media and industry captains, as an effort to raise funds for several charity bodies and jumpstart the Visit Johor 2020 programmes next year. Golf fraternities from Perak, Selangor, KL, Sarawak, Singapore, South Korea, and Belgium also joined in to raise funds.

Rise and shine for the golfers who teed off at 8.30 AM

This event was the first golf charity event collaborating media with industry players and public sectors, hosted by Forest City Golf Resort at its brand new Classics Course. The Classics Course, launched on 18th August 2019 by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Dr. Sahruddin Jamal, features a three-dimensional creative garden landscape designed to challenge, offering a stimulating golf experience for both professional and amateur golfers.

Col. Mohd Jamal Salleh, Johor Golf Tourism Association’s President, emphasised that the event was also to support the Visit Johor 2020 campaigns. “JGTA and Forest City Golf Resort staged this charity event in Johor as part of our on-going initiatives to promote golf tourism in Johor Darul Ta’zim as well as to stimulate the tourism businesses in the state in general.”

The SAM Media Corporate Charity Golf 2019 was supported by Johor state government, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Forest City Golf Resort, Nilai Crystal, Crest Link, 100 Plus and FireFly airlines.
