Mooncakes and New Dishes at Wan Li Chinese Restaurant, Renaissance JB

Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel’s celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival with popular handcrafted mooncakes and introduces a new menu at Wan Li Chinese Restaurant

The Wan Li Chinese restaurant at Renaissance Johor Bahru (JB) Hotel held a Chef’s Table to introduce its new menu items of new flavours to its patrons and hotel guests. Wan Li’s new menu consists of 120 dishes that range from bite-sized snacks to classic Chinese dishes.

The restaurant’s manager served guests with the new mouthwatering menu at the Chef’s Table event with some highlight dishes, namely, Wan Li’s Four Seasons Hot and Cold Combination Platter, Double Boiled Ginseng Soup with Village Chicken, Oil Poached Live Dragon Tiger Grouper with Superior Soya Sauce, Yuan Yang Duck and Chicken Platter, Sea Prawn with Glass Noodles simmered in Claypot, Crunchy Mixed Vegetables with Crispy Lotus Root, Seafood with Superior Stock and Fried Rice served in Claypot, and Double-Boiled Osmanthus and Pear with Lotus Seed.

At the same time, to celebrate the historic Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival on 24th September 2018, Wan Li Chinese Restaurant featured Chinese Chef Go Yong Jia who demonstrated the making of traditionally baked mooncakes.

Wan Li Chinese Restaurant of Renaissance JB is taking a contemporary approach to the traditionally baked and snow skin mooncakes by providing a variety of choices that include Pure Lotus Paste, Lotus Paste with Single or Double Yolk, Green Tea Paste with Single Yolk, Jade Custard, Assorted Fruits and Nuts, and Red Bean Paste for Baked Mooncakes.

As for the Chilled Snow Skin variety, Dark Chocolate Crunchy Pearl, Coffee Truffle, Taro Paste Truffle, Green Tea Matcha Truffle, Passion Fruit Truffle, Peppermint Chocolate Truffle, Strawberry Truffle, and Lemon Truffle are the flavours available. Locals can also indulge in the flavours of Fresh Durian Snow Skin Mooncakes as well.

Available for purchase until 24th of September, these handcrafted mooncakes are presented in a custom designed gift box in a set of eight and priced at RM98.00 nett for Snow Skin, and in a set of four for the traditionally baked Mooncakes at the same price. Fresh Durian flavours come in a box of eight at a price of RM168 nett.
