IMEF 2018, a dedicated effort by IRDA to empower human capital development in Iskandar Malaysia
Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) recently launched Iskandar Malaysia Employment Fair (IMEF) 2018 at Persada International Convention Centre, Johor Bahru.
This year, IMEF successfully attracted employers from different sectors and industries where more than 1000 vacancies were offered to job seekers including fresh graduates and experienced professionals.
According to IRDA’s Chief Executive, Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, continuous efforts in bringing investors to Iskandar Malaysia have indirectly created 746,457 job opportunities since 2006.
The main objective of IMEF 2018 was to serve as a platform to promote the current job opportunities in Iskandar Malaysia. Besides giving the exposure to the public, the event also gave a chance for the employers to recruit the best talent.
“To empower the human capital development agenda, IRDA has been introducing number of incentives including Iskandar Malaysia Employment Grant (IMEG) in 2015. With total fund of RM6mil, the programme had successfully created 800 new jobs,” said Datuk Ismail.
The event was launched by Johor Consumerism, Human Resource and State Unity Committee Chairman, Dr. S. Ramakrishnan as the official representative to Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Osman Sapian.
“I hope that IRDA will continuously gear up the human capital development especially for the local talents to meet the various industries’ demands around Iskandar Malaysia,” said Dr. S. Ramakrishnan during his speech.
The event received tremendous support from the employers as well as job seekers.
“It was a great event especially for those who are seeking for their dream job. I hope this event will be continued in the future,” said Nur Saiyyidah Fakhrani Nazri Nizam, one of the fresh graduates who attended the event.
